CAPTAIN H.S. CHAKRAVORTY

Captain Himadri Sekhar Chakravorty joined the National Defence Academy in 1977 and was commissioned in the Navy. He served on a number of warships, including INS Viraat. His specializations were in Gunnery and Missiles. Captain Chakravorty also served in the special forces during Operation Pawan and commanded a warship. He was extensively involved in patrolling the International Maritime Border Line at the Palk Straits.
Additionally, Captain Chakravorty worked as an instructor at the National Defence Academy and served as a Group Testing Officer in SSBs (Services Selection Boards) at Bangalore, Bhopal, Prayagraj, and Coimbatore. He also raised the Naval SSB at Diamond Harbour in Kolkata. Throughout his career, he served as a Group Testing Office (GTO) for 22 years.
Captain Chakravorty retired from the Navy in 2017 after serving for almost 38 years and settled in Bangalore. He is married to Mrs. Veena Chakravorty, and they have two sons, both engineers. Dushyant is currently in Amsterdam, while Dhananjay resides in Bangalore and leads a life as a military veteran.
