Lok Sabha Elections - 2024



The Election Commission of India (ECI) held the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from 19th May to 4th June 2024. The elections were held in total of 7 phases across India over 543 constituencies. Almost 64.50 crore citizens voted in the election this year which made a world record for highest vote turnout.

Minimum seats required to form the government:

272 seats are required for any party or coalition to form the government. Currently, no political party holds clear majority and hence, party with highest number of seats will be given a chance to prove majority by forming a coalition government. 
Bhartiya Janta Party will most probably form the government along with other parties as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)
I.N.D.I Aliance will be a strong opposition in the parliament fulfilling the important duty of an Opposition Party in a democratic parliament.
